Still Life Flowers
I've always been fascinated by still life objects. Those vases, figurines and homunculi that we somehow can never let go of. They become markers in our lives, and we keep them with us perhaps because these objects are solid reminders of people, places and times that pass us by. During the change and confusion of everyday existence they remain constant and they make a wonderful contrast to ephemeral flowers.

Hydrangeas in a Blue Jug
These pink hydrangeas were given to me by my daughter on her way home from Wellington for a few days. She's lived away from home for many years now and these gentle blossoms remind me of her. Time passes so quickly, and each visit is brief but beautiful - just like these blooms!
